About Us

Welcome to the official website of The Haldane Effect! We are a small emerging Southampton-based indie band influenced by bands like Arctic Monkeys, The Smiths, and The Stone Roses.

Tired of everything we hear on the radio? Yearning for the return of real music, albums, physical releases, proper followings of proper bands?

Despite our inspirations, we feel like we've built our own sound, we all love it and we hope you do too.

This is what we are here to bring, we have more in stock with character, humor, and real people as your soundtrack. We're here to be all yours, your lawfully wedded band, The Haldane Effect.

Band Review

I had the pleasure of seeing the band at their most recent gig at the Old Chemist in Bitterne on 23/3/24 among a variety of other local youth musicians. With no disrespect to all the other acts, to describe The Haldane Effect as the shining star of the gig night would be an understatement. Straight out the gate, the audience was treated to an insanely talented performance spearheaded by an extremely vivacious and confident frontman who possessed charisma by the bucketful.

The crowd adored The Haldane Effect, and The Haldane Effect adored them back- most prominently when frontman Ollie Kedziora discarded the mic stand and took the microphone into the crowd, singing their hilariously cynical original song “Christmas is a conspiracy” amongst the crowd. The audience also got the pleasure of listening to the band's unreleased single “tower block around the clock”, which is coming on streaming platforms very soon (no spoilers!).

The Haldane Effect concluded their brilliant 4-song set in spectacular fashion with a perfectly executed cover of Weezer's “Pink Triangle”, which was lovely to see a few members of the crowd join frontman Ollie in singing.

Suffice to say, this band is going places. You would certainly be wise to keep an eye on them and watch their performance and development into what has the potential to be the UKs most prolific grassroots indie rock band. Best to catch a performance from them now before you're paying hundreds to see them at Wembley!
